Clive and his partner had been living in a new build bungalow in Gravesend for the past five years. With his son living down in Kent, they would often visit the area and found it to be a lovely part of the world.
When they decided it was time for a change, they knew they wanted to move closer to family and to the seaside. After exploring Sholden Pastures – just next to Deal and the beautiful Kent coastline – they knew it was the perfect place to start the next chapter of their lives.
Clive said “I’ve always preferred new builds as there is less work to do, with this one being my fifth! But this one was definitely the easiest one to buy – the reception from Zoe and Kate on the sales side has been brilliant, very nice and very professional. The people on site have been helpful and dealt with any issues with a wonderful attitude.”
The location of Sholden Pastures was ideal for Clive and his partner. Explaining what drew him to the development, Clive explained “it’s local to the town centre, in a nice area and just a mile away from the sea. It ticked all the boxes for me.”
The pair were particularly attracted to the area because of its beautiful coastline. Previously, they had to travel from Gravesend to Kent, but now everything is within a 20-minute drive. They love the countryside behind their new home, off the back of their new garden, providing a perfect space for relaxation.
They chose a spacious four-bedroom home with a big dining room, lounge, and a kitchen that looked out onto the garden. Reflecting on his new purchase, Clive said “The quality of the homes is excellent, and the community is wonderful. The fact that there’s no service charge was a lovely surprise. Also, the south-facing garden and the addition of a garage are such a bonus!”
One of their favourite new local spots was the Wetherspoon’s in Ramsgate, which is actually the biggest in the country, and overlooks the beach, a great place to spend a sunny afternoon without breaking the bank.
Upon exchange and completion, Abbey New Homes conducted a thorough walk-through of the new home, explaining every detail to Clive and his partner. The couple described the moment they bought their new home as incredibly exciting, with everything moving like clockwork, thanks to Abbey New Homes’ dedication.
