What to do

Dunstable has a variety of top attractions to visit nearby, with fun for all the family. The ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, the UK’s largest, is within easy reach and has a whole host of animals to see including white rhino and Amur tigers. Dunstable Downs is the perfect destination for a sunny day spent taking a leisurely stroll through the countryside. Other popular sites in the area include Grade 1 listed Wrest Park Country Estate, Green Flag Award-winning Grove House Gardens and the Priory Gardens. Other popular entertainment venues include the town’s three golf courses, escape rooms and indoor go-karting track.

Where to eat

Dunstable has a wide range of restaurants, pubs, cafés and bars. For a tasty Mediterranean dining experience, book a table at the Olive Garden, which Greek-Turkish cuisine. Alternatively, if contemporary French cuisine is more to your fancy, then Chez Jerome is well worth a visit.  For picking up food on the go, Dunstable hosts Middle Row Markets twice a month, with stallholders selling baked goods and freshly prepared produce.

Getting around

Travel by car is easily accessible from the A5 and A505 for journeys in and around the surrounding areas. For journeys beyond this, easy access to the M1 motorway provides links to London and the south, as well as Milton Keynes and Northampton in the north. For international travel, Luton Airport is located just 16 minutes by car from the centre of Dunstable. Alternatively, Luton railway station offers fast train services to London St Pancras International.

Education, education, education

The Lark Rise Academy for children aged three to 11 has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. Other high performing schools in the area include Tithe Farm Primary School, The Value Academy and St Christophers Academy.
