In May 2023, Srinivas (39) and his wife, Nagpadmini (34), embarked on a journey to become first-time buyers and secure their dream home near Milton Keynes. The couple booked a viewing at Manor Grange, Wavendon, an Abbey New Homes development on the outskirts of Milton Keynes, and this marked the beginning of an exciting chapter for them.
Srinivas and Nagpadmini viewed one of the 3-bedroom Carmack homes – it was the first property the couple visited, and it was love at first sight. The immediate connection they felt with the property convinced them that it was the right choice, so much so that, despite exploring other options online, they decided they didn’t need to do any more viewings.
Srinivas explained: “We were really confident that we were making the right choice. The spaciousness of the Carmack home sets it apart from others in the area – it has wide corridors, well-spaced rooms, and abundant storage space which is all perfect for the needs of our growing family.”
The location’s convenience, with a 5-minute drive to Tesco Extra, Costco, and various shopping options, as well as proximity to the M1 and A421, further solidified their decision.
Srinivas, a software engineer working from home, appreciated the accessibility of major cities like London and Birmingham. Meanwhile, Nagpadmini found her workplace within a walkable distance, making her daily commute hassle-free.
The couple expanded upon the location of Manor Grange: “We both have quite different requirements from a work perspective – Srinivas needs to be at home, so we needed a spacious property that would allow him to still have separate ‘work’ and ‘relaxation’ places, whereas Nagpadmini prefers being in the office, so we wanted somewhere that is an easy commute for her. Manor Grange and the Carmack house ticked all boxes.”
Celebrating their 10th anniversary, Srinivas and Nagpadmini shared their joy about the countless family day trips made possible by Milton Keynes’ central location. Exploring nearby attractions like Cambridge, Oxford, London, and Bournemouth became convenient and time-efficient, enhancing their overall living experience.
Srinivas stated that having good accessibility is great for his family: “We have two young children – our eldest is 8 and our youngest is 3 – so it can sometimes be tough keeping them entertained! However, there’s so many things to do close by, and having good connections to major cities broadens our options even further. It’s only about a 90-minute drive to both Birmingham and London, or about 2 hours by public transport.”
As their family embraced the new environment, they found excitement in the ongoing construction around their home. Taking walks around the development became a family activity, witnessing the growth and transformation of the community.
Impressed by their experience, Srinivas recommended Manor Grange to a friend who was also in search of a home. The friend agreed with Srinivas’ assessment and ultimately purchased an Usher, a show home, in October 2023.

We’ve already had one friend move into the community, now we’re sharing our recommendation and learnings with other friends who are also interested in buying a new home.”

Despite a slight delay to the move-in date, Abbey New Homes kept them updated and managed expectations effectively. The couple received their keys in October 2023 and haven’t looked back since.
