In early 2024, Megan and her partner of 12 years, Taylor, embarked on an exciting journey to find their perfect home. With two young children and Poppy the Pug – who thinks she’s a rottweiler – they were looking for a place that offered both comfort and convenience. Their search led them to Royal Gardens in Wixams, an Abbey New Homes development, and it was love at first sight.
Megan explained, “We chose Royal Gardens because my mum lives around here, and we wanted to be close to family. The area is lovely with nice parks and dog walks within walking distance. We always feel very safe here, and the community is very welcoming.”

Moving can be quite stressful, but there have barely been any issues.”
Having previously owned a new-build flat with another developer, Megan was pleasantly surprised by the difference in their experience with Abbey New Homes. “With my previous place, it was so hard to get things fixed, and we even had to escalate issues and get compensation. It really ruined the excitement of buying a house. This time, everything has been perfect since we walked in. Nothing major has gone wrong,” Megan said.

Also having the kitchen open up to the back is great for socialising and easy with the dog. We had family over for my birthday, and it was lovely to have everyone in the garden, ” Megan added.
Since moving in, the couple has enjoyed every moment in their new home. “The whole thing has been lovely. We’re still in the honeymoon phase. From the minute we got the keys, it’s been a wonderful experience,” Megan shared.
