The nearby quaint smugglers town of Deal has
some of the best coastal waters for sea angling in England
and fishermen's boats can often be seen drawn up on the
foreshore. Sandwich, one of the best preserved medieval
towns in England, is further up the coast. It used to be a
major port and is still one of the principle Cinque Ports.
Archer's Place is conveniently situated for
the surrounding amenities. A Tesco superstore is located
within half a mile and there is also a village hall, general
store, post office and popular county primary school in
Whitfield. Dover has a further selection of schools,
including both boys and girls grammar schools and the
prestigious Dover College.
Just under thirteen miles away is the
historic cathedral city of Canterbury which has excellent
shopping facilities, bars and restaurants. Dover also has a
good range of shops, including the Charlton Centre and De
Bradelei Wharf; a designer outlet. Dover Leisure Centre has
facilities for swimming, circuit training, squash and
badminton, it also has a health suite and fitness gym. Water
sports are on offer at Dover Harbour and Downs Sailing Club
and there are three championship greens at Sandwich Bay for
golfers of all levels.
The development is in a prime location, with
an excellent travel network within a mile. The A2/M2 dual
carriageway and A20, which leads to the M20, are both easily
accessible from the site. The Channel Tunnel is just twelve
miles away at Folkestone. The area also has the shortest
routes by ferry or hovercraft to Europe. Travellers by rail
have a choice of stations; Kearsney and Dover Priory offer a
direct link to London Victoria, whilst Dover Priory also has
a direct service to London Charing Cross.

Abbey New Homes is pleased to welcome you to
Archer's Place, an attractive development of one, two, three
and four bedroom homes located in Whitfield, Dover.
Whitfield is situated in one of the most
attractive corners of rural Kent; the surrounding area
consists of rolling hills, quaint villages and beautiful
coastline. It is close to the ancient town of Dover which
has been a settlement since the Stone Age. The Roman Painted
House, the best preserved Roman house in South East England,
the Crabble Corn Mill, a beautiful Georgian watermill and
the South Foreland Lighthouse all contribute to piecing
together the history of the area. Perhaps Dover's most
famous landmark is its breathtaking white cliffs, which

There are a number of beautiful parks
situated in the surrounding area including Connaught Park
Gardens and the Pines Garden, over six acres of undulating
parkland, waterfalls and a lake. Dover Castle stands high
upon a hill majestically dominating the skyline, with over
2000 years of history contained within its walls.
Underground is the labyrinth of secret
wartime tunnels (known as Hellfire Corner) from which Vice
Admiral Ramsay and Sir Winston Churchill masterminded the
evacuation of Dunkirk.
